All of us here ar Windfall wish you the best of luck going forward with this wonderful horse.

Strides & Tides 2015

Windfall Farm enjoyed another wonderful show at the beautiful Sonoma Horse Park for the Strides & Tides event, September 9-13.

  • Ian McFarlane, aboard Celio Cruise (video above), was the only junior entry in a solid field of 29 in the $15,000 Welcome Prix. Ian finished in 8th place, with just a rail in the jump off. His two rounds are in the video, above.
  • Marguerite Moreau and Lorenda delivered very consistent rounds in the .70-meter and .80-meter jumper classes.
  • Meilan Neece and Landson also completed very solid rounds in both the jumper and equitation rings, finishing 3rd in the Outreach Silver Medal and going double clear in the pre-children's jumper division.

It was a great show to warm up the horses and riders for the final fall shows on the horizon. Next up: the Sacramento International Horse Show! See you at the show or at the barn.

He was also the only junior entry into the $15,000 Professional's Choice Welcome Prix.
  • Sarah Puchalski on a beautiful, four-fault round in the $15,000 Professional's Choice Welcome Prix as the only amateur entry.
  • Destiny Hale and Camp VIII for moving up from .85m to 1.10m, and for a solid finish in the $5,000 ProEquest Children's Jumper Classic.

Blenheim Show Scholarships

Windfall is thrilled to announce that rider Ian McFarlane, along with two other young rider recipients, was selected to receive an inaugural scholarship award, provided by West Palm Events and Blenheim Equisports.

The brainchild of Dale Harvey, the scholarship is a big financial "leg up" for three young West Coast riders, all of whom are working toward the pursuit of professional careers in show jumping. Named in honor of Dale's nephew Michael Nyuis, the scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for show management to promote, support and give back to the young riding community.

The scholarship gives $10,000 towards entry fees at West Palms and Blenheim events. The recipients applied by writing essays about their riding goals, providing videos of their riding and sending four referrals from current California professionals.

Sponsored riders are required to work an equivalent of a full day at any of the shows they attend and to provide a blog post of their experiences and their reflections of the shows.

As a mom to Ian and a professional in this sport, I think the award exemplifies the very best that our horse show family has to offer.

Thank you, again, to Dale Harvey, West Palms Event and Blenheim EquiSports for the support. Your leadership in innovating the sport and the possible opportunities well reflects your vision for the future. —Gry

Sonoma Horse Park

Our first show together with Carol's group and the Windfall group was a great success.

Carol and Kona had clear rounds in both Grand Prix. Our Champions ranged from the 1.40m ring to the Long Stirrup ring.

Ian and Barrollo and Ian and Cruise were champion in both the 1.20m and 1.30m JrAm.

Behka was R. Champion in the Long Stirrup and Lena and Cavi won a class at their 1st horse show.

Carrington debuted on her new horse Palim Palim as did Lydsey and Portos.  Watch out these partnerships as they promise to be very competitive.

Judith Chapman's lovely 7 yr old was terrific as was Lisa Voller's new horse Vinny.

Welcome Sabrina Voller and her great horse Special Z who were solid in their jumper rounds.
